Your conversation - Type & Read

It doesn't matter if your call is going via a relay assistant or the other person is using the NGT Lite app you read the conversation on the NGT Lite screen and type on the keyboard.

Remember:

One of the benefits of having both the voice and internet connection in parallel, is that you can speak and read at the same time. So keep an eye on the app for any interruption from the hearing person or any words of confirmation as you're speaking.

You can make the conversation as natural as possible – it's okay to stop mid-speech to read anything that the hearing person says. The relay assistant will manage this and try to reflect the flow of conversation but, if too many interruptions make the conversation difficult to understand, they might step in to manage the call by asking both parties to apply a little more structure.

Saving your conversation

After your call you can save your text conversation by clicking the Calls icon Calls icon. When the Calls pop-up opens click the Save Conversation button and save it to your disk. The conversation can be read using your browser.

Hanging up a call - NGT Lite

At the end of a call simply hang up your phone and NGT Lite will show the call has been released.

If you don't close NGT Lite it will disconnect from NGT Service after 3 minutes and you'll see the pop-up below.

Image of app disconnect popup

You don't need to reconnect until you want to make or answer a call.
